Our Services
In-Person Wildfire Inspection
Following nationally recognized Firewise principles our trained wildfire inspectors can inspect your policies for hazards that cause damage and loss during a wildfire. A custom mitigation plan will be created and a detailed report with all findings and recommendations will be provided. Mitigation examples include home hardening, hazardous fuel removal, and creating defensible space.
Home/Business Hardening
Hardening a home greatly increases its resistance to embers and other forms of heat transfer. A variety of products including ember-resistant venting, gutter guards, and other products proven to prevent loss from embers during a wildfire. We can recommend a vendor for purchase and installation.
Long-term Fire Retardant
As needed, a long-term fire retardant will be applied to key areas of the property. Should there be a wildfire that threatens policies this retardant will help prevent hazardous fuels from igniting. This retardant is safe for plants, pets, humans and has been approved by the US Forest Service for use around homes.
Creating Defensible Space
In addition to hardening, one of the most important changes a property owner can make is to create defensible space which is designed to stop a fire from spreading to your home. Defensible space does not always mean completely removing all fuel. A lot can be accomplished through limbing, trimming, and thinning. We can help create a custom defensible space plan and, if needed, do all of the work for the client.
When a Wildfire Strikes
While most other companies only patrol the fire, our trained and experienced wildland firefighters will respond to your properties to prepare and protect it. Common actions performed include:
Removing hazardous materials around the home such as bark mulch, small propane cylinders, flammable plants, and more.
Taping over vents and openings to prevent ember intrusion.
The roof is the most vulnerable part of the home. To prevent damage from ember fallout we remove roof and gutter debris.
Application of a fire-blocking gel or retardant to vulnerable areas.
